The Enterprise Data Governance team manages and supports UNCG’s Data Governance committees, data quality efforts, and the Collibra Data Intelligence platform. We provide data asset cataloging, metadata support, and data quality assurance to all areas of campus.

The UNCG Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) mission is to provide the university with a clearly defined framework of roles, processes, and policies within which our institutional data is trusted, understood, accurate, and is provided and used in a consistent and meaningful manner. The EDG Team collaborates with Data Governance Committees to fulfill our mission through the following objectives:
1. To support and sustain a Data Governance program with related information resources for UNCG.
2. To support and sustain a comprehensive metadata management program in alignment with the Data Governance program.
3. To engage and educate the UNCG community in data management principles and data literacy through training and student practicum experiences.
Our vision for UNCG Enterprise Data Governance is that our institutional data is transparent in understanding, trusted and relied upon to inform decision-making for our university, and secure yet accessible to those in our community.
UNCG Enterprise Data Governance values integrity, transparency, accountability, stewardship, and standardization in data-related decisions. We will work to clearly define and communicate data-related policies, standards, and processes to the UNCG community to support campus-wide information needs.
