The new Name Data standard requires that name data be entered using the Roman or Latin Character alphabet only and that the only special characters allowed are an apostrophe (‘) and a hyphen (-).
- This standard is still in the approval process, compliance activities have not yet begun.
- Demand has been submitted to begin discovery for clean up and compliance.
- Users are asked to submit a 6-Tech incident when name data including disallowed characters shows up so that we can track and remediate.
A new data quality rule is created requiring that each person record has one and only one preferred email address indicated.
- No policy or requirement will be made to mandate that uncg.edu must be the preferred email address. Many business reason exist that require the ability to communicate to preferred accounts that are not uncg.edu.
- Preferred email address is not required to be the uncg.edu address.
- Data quality root cause analysis and remediation efforts to clean up records with multiple preferred email address indicators set are in process.
A Student Attribute for tracking students engaged in teaching out prior General Education requirements is approved.
