Data Governance is the foundational element of Information Governance. It provides a framework that organizations use to coordinate and oversee the management of data. It is a whole organizational initiative that maintains a structure within which data related decisions can be effectively and efficiently made, and it includes activities in support of the use and access of organizational data. Data Governance is a quality control discipline that encompasses and oversees all the areas of data management.

Any data that is stored, kept, or maintained for use by UNCG.

Use the Data Governance Intake form for general data related concerns such as data policy, standard, or process concerns. Use the Data Quality/Metadata form for items such as proposing new codes, new terms or definitions, or data quality concerns.
